Title
Aesthetic Progression detail 2
Artist
Katherine Huck Fernie Howard
Medium
Sculpture - Resin With Embedments, Acrylic Paint
Description
In this second head, the progression has moved to preadolescence and the obsession with the tacky and shallow glamor of such things as Barbie dolls. Embedded in this head are some silk roses and a ballerina Barbie. Helpful excerpt from the description of the entire series: "The 'progression' referred to is the sense of personal aesthetic with growth and maturity. That is, what we appreciate aesthetically changes from the time we are a baby until we are old. Inside each of the clear heads are embedded objects intended to show this, and each head is at a different stage of emergence from a base."
