Artist's Description
The "Aesthetic Progression" series is an unfinished series of clear resin heads , of which there are currently three (of at least six total planned). The heads themselves are stylized to show the "swirls of imagination" toward the back, and the paint across the face reminds us that what is within is always hidden to some degree. The 'progression' referred to is the sense of personal aesthetic with growth and maturity. That is, what we appreciate aesthetically changes from the time we are a baby until we are old. Inside each of the clear heads are embedded objects intended to show this, and each head is at a different stage of emergence from a base. (It should be noted that when the series is complete, each head will have a separate base, which may possibly also light up the head from underneath. Currently they are just sitting there--this is not their final display method!)

I have been an artist since early childhood, but it was only once I was into my thirties that I realized that making...
